What is Brow Lamination?

Also known as “eyebrow lift,” “eyebrow sculpting,” or “eyebrow perm,” brow lamination is a relatively new salon procedure that originated in Russia. It creates the illusion that the small gaps between your brow hairs are filled by straightening and styling them in the right direction. As its name suggests, it laminates your brows—giving you gorgeous brows even without makeup on.

Who Will Benefit the Most from Brow Lamination? Anyone can get in on the brow lamination trend. However, ladies who have thick and unruly brows are the best candidates for brow lamination. Its non-invasive nature also makes it a suitable procedure for those who have fear of needles and ink insertion.

Brow Lamination vs. Microblading/Shading

While brow lamination and microblading have similarities, they also have key differences that make them completely different from each other. Make sure you know about so you can decide which procedure is best for you.

· End-result

Microblading: Realistic and full-looking brows

Brow lamination: Fluffier brows, very natural look

· Procedure

Microblading: Tattooing; lasts for 1 hour and 30 minutes

Brow lamination: Needle-free, non-invasive; lasts for 1 hour

· Semi-Permanency

Microblading: 18 months

Brow lamination: 6 to 8 weeks

· After-care

Microblading: Wash the eyebrow area very gently with water every morning and night so it heals faster

Brow lamination: Avoid heat, steam, and hard workouts. Apply castor oil to brows daily.

· Cost (Miss Derm)

Microblading: PHP 3999 for 2 sessions

Brow lamination: PHP 1000 for 1 session (add 300 for tint)

The Three-Step Lamination Process Once you’re ready to laminate your brows, it’s recommended that you consult with your brow artist before the procedure. Your brow artist will know how to style your brows based on their evenness, proportion, density, and hair growth pattern. The beauty of brow lamination is that it can be customized based on a person’s face shape and eye shape, while also achieving one’s desired brow look.

Still, you can expect to go through this three-step lamination process:

  1. Style Adjusting. Brows are prepped and shaped to create a clean slate. The brow artist strategically brushes up and lifts your brow hairs, and fills in the gaps to achieve your desired look.

  2. Lamination. Neutralizing cream will be put on your brows to keep the style in place. This will set your brows in place to achieve the laminated effect.

  3. Nourishing and Moisturizing. Finally, an undercoat will be applied to keep your brow area nourished and moisturized after the procedure.

And that’s it! Your brows are now laminated. You can save so much time every day styling your brows and enjoy waking up every morning with an instant beauty boost.

How Long Will Laminated Brows Last?

Generally, your laminated brows can last for 4 to 6 weeks. With proper care, it can last up to 8 weeks. It’s recommended that you get your brows touched up or re-laminated to maintain that clean, full look for a longer period.

What To Do for Brow Lamination After-Care? Since the procedure is done just above the eyelid skin—the thinnest and most delicate skin of the body, special care and attention are required after the procedure. This means that the brow area should be free of steam, sweat, or any makeup or skincare product for 24 hours. This will ensure that your brow hairs will remain set in their newly-brushed-up position. After 24 hours, it’s recommended that you also include oil or cream in your skincare routine to keep your brow hairs moisturized. Take note that, just like in other brow procedures, your brows can appear intense in the first 24 hours. After it has passed, you’ll achieve a natural, makeup-free look for your brows for 4 to 6 weeks.

How Much Does Brow Lamination Costs? Brow lamination is available in Miss Derm Makati, Quezon City and Las Piñas for only PHP 1000. The procedure will last for an hour. Book your appointment here.
